Mood of the Week Tarot

THIS WEEK'S CARD: The Moon (Chalice Hill)

The image in this card is of a full moon behind a Lime tree (a tree of protection and luck) that sits atop Chalice Hill in Glastonbury. The moon represents the feminine, the intuitive, and the mysterious. The moon, because of it's waxing and waning, is a reminder of the cycles of nature within and without ourselves. Of course, the moon has a subtle magnetic pull upon us which affects our emotions, just as it is responsible for the tides. Unlike the Star or Sun, the moon does not create it's own light as such, rather it reflects light. This hints at the mystery of the moon, and hints at the possibility that all is not what it seems. Often, reality is projecting back to you your own fears and doubts...or presenting you with your wildest dreams about which you need to trust your instincts! The trick is to look beyond the reflection and see the source of the light instead. The moon can also represent deception and confusion, hence it's association with the term 'lunacy'. And, even more true to the name of lunacy, can also represent mental distress.

The moon, for me, is definitely a card of mystery. It is symbolic of the feminine and the intuitive, and thus the unconscious, challenging us to look beyond the surface and plough deeper for the seeds of truth within our experiences. It can also thus represent our psychic abilities. And if this card comes up it is either saying you are on the right track and your intuition is strong, or you need to stop, take a deep breath, go into your heart, tune in, and see what is really going on!

If I were to be totally honest, and honesty makes me human, I can say that I've been going through a confusing patch myself recently, and wondering what is really going on within my reality! Part of you knows, another part of you doubts. I find that, a lot of the time, it's easier just to allow all these thoughts and possibilities to be just that -- possibilities -- and simply trust that in time all will become clear again. In other words, to stop trying which is a state of Doing, relax, and go back into Being. Focus on anything which takes your mind off of questions, uncertainty, or worries. Anything that you enjoy, that relaxes you (like a nice salt bath with candle), anything that takes you back into the moment of Now. There aren't always techniques and 100% clear answers, except to trust in the universe and know that all will turn out for the good. In the end, it always does. Life is about experiencing and learning. As Abraham said through Ester Hicks when I attended Art of Allowing on the 19th of May, 'Are you enjoying the contrast of your experience?'

AFFIRMATION

'I trust that whatever wants to happen is the best outcome for me and those around me.'

MEDITATION

Take a deep breath in through the nose, and out through the mouth. Walk up Chalice Hill to the Lime tree, noticing a full moon behind the tree. Lean back on the tree and breath. Imagine your roots going into the earth, and breath up the energy up into your heart space. Then breath the moon's rays down through the leaves on your branches, down into your chest. Call upon the angel Gabriel, angel of the Moon, and ask for an awakening of your intuition and powers of knowing. If you have a query, ask, then wait for an answer. When you are finished, open your eyes. So as it is decreed, so it is.
