Mood of the Week Tarot

THIS WEEK'S CARD: 5 of Chalices (Progression)

The image in this card is of a lady making her way up Chalice Hill in Glastonbury. There are three empty chalices besides her, and two golden filled-to-the brim chalices in the near distance! The message of this card is classicly not to 'cry over spilt milk', hence the three empty or spilt chalices being left behind and why she is dressed in a purple cloak the colour of mourning. In other words, if you've experienced difficulties or disapointments of late, there is no need to worry as things shall be changing for the better very soon! But when this card comes up, it is also more generally a reminder that life is a progression and a journey...that it's the journey there, not the being there, that counts.

In the week's gone, especially the time after the full moon, we may have found ourselves motivated and excited, as if everything feels new and with promise. Sometimes we would have felt like we were on a high. And of course every high is usually followed by a 'low'. Well the world is still new and full of promise, it always is if only you'd allow yourself to see it, but we've just passed into a quieter and more introspective period between the new moon and the next full moon (20th May). This is a time of spending more time with and within ourselves, doing inner work preparing us for the new energies about to emerge.

Another way of putting this, is to say that we have moved from a more active, masculine, period of energy, into a still, passive, and feminine period of energy. What I call the 'in between' or 'waiting time'.

Some may experience this as life just 'plodding on', which doesn't sound very exciting, but then this is how we often perceive the feminine when we have previously been experiencing the roller-coaster of the masculine! The key is to relax into this period, make full use of it, and simply see it for what it is. Indeed, this card reminds us that this is part of life and to accept it.

One of the wisest pieces of advice ever given to me regards my own albeit challenging work as a lightworker, especially in my early days at 12listen, was from our very own resident shamen Shane Knox. He simply said to 'keep going.' And to keep going is what this card is all about! Because, very soon, we shall be reaching those two chalices filled-to-the brim on top of the proverbial hill we're climbing! And we will see what all this inner work was leading up to. This should culminate on the full moon of the 20th, which is also the special time of the Wesack--Lord Buddha's birthday and the beginning of the New Spiritual Year!

No wonder we are feeling possibly strange and like we are 'going nowhere', we are being prepared for one of the biggest spiritual and energetic events of the year, which will catapult us forward at light speed, and this particular Wesack is going to be one of the most powerful yet!

AFFIRMATION

'I am a perfect balance of masculine and feminine energies. I am happy whatever may be going on within or around me.'

MEDITATION

Take a deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth. Become aware of the sun in the sky. Call upon the angel Raphael who represents the Sun, and say, 'I call upon the sun, the light of the world.' Feel the warmth of the sun on your face and breath the sunlight through the top of your head and down through your body, out through your feet, and down into the earth. Now call upon Gabriel, the angel representing the moon. See the moon, and say, 'I call upon the silver moon of the night, the inner light that shines the way ahead.' Then breath down it's pearly-silver rays through the top of your head and down through your body, out through your feet. Now ask that the sun and the moon, the gold and the silver, the feminine and the masculine, the logical and the intuitive, with the help of Raphael and Gabriel, come down together as one light of Unity Consciousness through all of your relevant chakras.

Then see yourself walking up that hill, leaving the empty chalices behind. Arrive at the top and pay attention to your journey. does it feel easy or tiresome? If so, why? Then ask for and make required changes so that your journey may be perceived more easily. When you reach the top, see the sun go down and experience the night. See the moon in the sky. Then see the sun come back up and rise, it's rays warming you, the birds singing their dawn chorus. See your body transparent and empty, now becoming filled with sunlight, as if you were a glass being refilled with the Sun's nectar. Give thanks for all that you have received and are receiving.

Now become still, tune inwards, then do whatever you feel drawn to do or be. Enjoy! Namaste
