Mood of the Week Tarot
THIS WEEK'S CARD: 2 of Staffs (Gateway)
The image in this card is of a man standing in a field, holding up two staffs above his head, which cross each other to form an x. This shape is like the Runic Gebo, which means a gift or kiss. The way he holds the staffs is as if to say 'Stop. Walk no further'.
This is not, however, indicative of being held back. Rather, he is holding up the staffs to indicate that this is an opportune time to stop and pause. To consider how the past has led you to this point in your life. Moreover, to this new threshold that you are about to cross...into new territory.
Last week's card was 5 of Chalices (Progression). This week's card is almost like reaching the top of that uphill journey towards the light and finding a gateway. A gateway that marks the moving into a new place, into new energy.
So the message is to pause, contemplate the past, give thanks, and then move forward with confidence to receive the new Gift that is being offered. How relevant to receive this card on the Wesak! For indeed, we stand now at the gateway of the New Spiritual Year, giving thanks for what has been to bring us to here, and to open ourselves to receiving what can be in the form of the blessings -- the gift -- of the Wesak.
AFFIRMATION
'I am grateful for all that I have received, and open to all that I am receiving.'
