Mood of the Week Tarot
THIS WEEK'S CARD: Queen of Chalices
Before choosing this week's tarot card, I had an image of the Love card (2 of Chalices) appear in my mind. This card depicts a man dressed in green trousers and white top, embracing a lady dressed in pink. It depicts romance and/or strong feeling. The pink and the golden-yellow background were strongest in my mind. When I saw the card on the bottom of the deck - Queen of Chalices - naturally I noticed that we were dealing with the colour pink again. Imagine my 'surprise', though, to shuffle the deck three times, then laying down the cards with my eyes closed, and stopping at random...only to see the Queen of Chalices again! (I say 'surrpise' because these kinds of coincidences, and indeed a lot stranger, are very common as they are for many of us these days! Indeed, that being the case, surely it's about time I dropped the exclamation marks.)
This week's card depicts a lady with blonde hair, dressed in pink, smiling, with a golden chalice held at her heart level. To me, what with the Queen of Chalices and my 'seeing' the Love card, this suggests that 'love is in the air.' This card signifies the ability to be in tune with one's emotions, one's heart, and to be very giving. The Queen of Chalices is not a card of unbridled passion, it is a card of unconditionality. Whilst the lower heart is usually depicted by the colour green, the higher heart is usually depicted by the colour pink. Thus, her pink dress demonstrates her being seated in her higher heart and loving to (pardon the pun) a 'higher degree'.
We've all heard the term 'un-conditional love'. What does it mean? It means literally what it says. Loving without conditions.Loving simply for the sake of loving, expecting nothing in return. The awareness, the experience, that one is loving simply because that's what one is...LOVE. Loving you're nearest and dearest or those you have 'an eye for' is easy...(well, most of the time)...the true test of Unconditonal Love is being able to remain 'in love' when you have a disagreement with someone, or when someone you perceive to hurt you.
This of course brings us to forgiveness, a whole new subject which I shall keep brief. Let's just say that unconditional love aint that easy for most of us, but we can choose to allow it to grow like a muscle just like any other ability. I actually believe that it is our true nature, so it's more a case of just allowing it. But the muscle anology is still a good one, because it is something which must be cultivated due to our faulty perceptions of separation causing us to forget it. We often block out our natural state of unconditionality because it means allowing ourselves to feel more deeply. How do we do that? In short, we remember that we are all One.
So, the mood of the week is one of the heart. You may be experiencing some emotional times, you may be finding yourself open and giving, and you may be finding yourself -- if you're very 'lucky' -- experiencing a spot of romance! If so, this card is a good omen, otherwise it may indicate that you are about to meet someone! Either way, just be aware that this is a good time to explore all issues of the heart. Discover what makes you're heart sing, what you're passion is in life. Have a look at the question of relationships in a new light. Use this time to explore what you're really looking for. Above all, remember that you are loving, lovable, and very loved.
AFFIRMATION
'I Am loving, lovable, and loved. I Am Unconditional Love.'
MEDITATION
Take a deep breath, in through the nose, and out through the mouth. Imagine roots growing from you're feet down into the earth, right to the centre. Then imagine the sun shining down upon you, warming the top of you're head. Now, become aware of you're heart. Imagine it opening like a green flower. See you're self sitting there at the centre. When you are ready, move up to the thymus in the centre of you're chest about an inch and a half above the heart. Imagine a turqouise flower unfolding, and see you're self at the centre of it. See and feel you're self smiling. Now see at the centre of that you within you, a green heart flower there. See and feel it open. Then see a turquoise flower above it open. Allow this energy to anchor.
Then see you're self going out into the world, smiling, and beaming love from you're heart wherever you go. See and feel the love between you're self and all others, you're self and all life. See and feel other people, the birds, nature, and all life, responding back to you with joy. Experience and re-experience this in you're mind until it becomes a definite feeling within you're heart, and then breath it throughout you're being. Become one with it. Be it. End by imaging a pink light cascading down through the top of you're head and throughout you're body. Take a minute or to to allow this to integrate in silence. Then take a deep breath and open you're eyes.
